SMAW/GTAW
680 Clock hours
This comprehensive 17-week, 680-hour course provides focused instruction on both Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), recognized as the industry standard for sectors including petrochemical, paper mills, pressure vessel, boiler repair, and new construction.
Led by an instructor with over 30 years of extensive experience in pipeline and shutdown operations, the curriculum guides students through various welding techniques, ranging from open root structural plate welding to SMAW open root/GTAW open root, and the combined application of GTAW/SMAW open root across a diverse array of pipe sizes.
In addition, the course covers blueprint interpretation and pipe fitting. Practical learning is facilitated through the use of shutdown pipe simulators and restrictors, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in real-world scenarios.
